Laser therapy

The word “laser” stands for “light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation” Laser therapy has shown to have a wide ranging positive effect on the soft tissue of the human body through extensive research and experimentation.  Some of these positive effects are: pain relief, anti-inflammatory effect and anti-swelling effect. Used with other physical therapy modalities, laser therapy can be a great addition to the overall physical therapy regime.

HIL therapy, or High Intensity Laser therapy, uses a laser that is 50 times stronger, thus drastically increasing its effectiveness over its less powerful sibling. This physical therapy modality  is recommended for a number of conditions encountered in a therapy session, such as serious injuries to muscles, ligaments, tendons and cartilage, as well as degenerative changes in the joints.  Indications for the use of high-intensity lasers include sprains, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, pain in the cervical or lumbar spine, muscle spasms, epicondylitis and tendinopathy.
